Business Development Officer

Our client, a leading post-secondary institution, is looking for a highly experience Business Development Officer. The successful candidate will be results-driven with experience in relationship management, and demonstrable acumen in budgeting, proposal writing, and contract management.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business opportunities through prospecting, identifying, and engaging companies who could benefit from training opportunities and other services.

  • Plan, develop, and submit proposals in response to RFP’s and prospecting results.

  • Deliver agreements and negotiate contracts to provide a positive experience and mutually beneficial agreements with clients.

  • Develop and maintain client stewardship to maintain relationships with existing customers.

  • Collaborate with other departments to create customized training opportunities and meet other client needs.

  • Attend industry functions, events and conferences, and client functions to network and develop relationships while learning market and industry trends.

  • Identify and develop unique selling proposition and differentiators to inform new products and service offering to add value to customers’ needs.

  • Research, budget, plan and develop activities, training initiatives and other services, recording events performance and feedback to inform future offerings.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in product / market development, fund development, advancement, or related field.

  • Undergraduate degree in related field (social sciences, business, communications).

  • Experience or knowledge of adult education and /or diversity inclusion may be considered an asset.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office.
