Our client is seeking an experienced and ambitious Human Resource Generalist to look after employees at their Windsor, Ontario facility and sales personnel across Canada. As a Human Resource Generalist, you will exercise your keen attention to detail to provide support for employees directly and through HR initiatives.
*Travel in Canada and the United States required – up to 10%
Builds employee engagement through multiple channels (meetings, newsletters, town-halls, etc.).
Advises and coaches business unit management on resolving employee issues.
Develop programs and initiatives to proactively improve employee wellness and happiness at work.
Maintain HRIS, personnel files and other documentation.
Manage communication channels including emails, shared drives, online.
Champion diversity and inclusion goals, strategies and plans in partnership with management.
Oversee company and community events (leads social committee).
Work to build collaboration and consistency across company locations.
Actively participates with business leadership to source, evaluate, select and on-board talent.
Provide consultations on succession plans.
Provides data and input to the Annual and Long-Range Business Plans and supports management team in the annual talent review process, assessment and succession planning.
Conducts required training and team building (new hire orientation, harassment, etc.) and administers division training programs (both internal and external).
Coaches business leaders and their teams on the development of others.
Helps identify development opportunities for talent within the business unit and tracks progress on development action plans.
Other duties as required.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in Human Resources in Canada.
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing company or setting may be considered an asset.
Demonstrated experience with administration of compensation and benefits, employee relations, and legal compliance.
Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian Federal and Provincial Regulations and employment law.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
HRIS Experience may be considered an asset.
